Batumi – the new pearl of the Mediterranean?

A business feasibility study to provide a ‘go’ or ‘no go’ decision for a major hospitality venture.

Brief

Before making the significant investment required for a mega hotel project Batumi, Georgia that could include an equity contribution, Bridge.Over was mandated by the international global hotel player to undertake a feasibility study.

Solution

We looked at the project from a point of view of the external market, internal operation, and investment performance. We researched and analysed market factors such as demographics, demand, market capacity, supply pipeline, competition, regulation, cultural issues to understand whether or not customers will buy, whether there is an adequate customer base to buy and/or if investors will invest. More importantly we ensure the law makers were aligned to the vision as a considerable amount of our time was spent brain storming with the elected government, the cabinet and Tourism Department in specific to ensure the success of this venture.

Outcome

The said project was given the go ahead, enjoys a unilateral support from the government and when completed in 2015 will be one of the largest multi-use hotel projects in Central Eastern Europe.
